The Linguistics Colloquium is an international conference series with a long tradition, see History in the menu above. This website is meant to be a permanent entry point to inform interested scientists about recent and future editions of the conference, and to point them to the respective local websites for further information. On his and Heinrich Weber's request, this website was created as a followup of a similar site which had been maintained by Wilfried Kürschner for many years

2024

The 59th Linguistics Colloquium will take place at the University of Zurich in Switzerland from August 28 to 30, 2024. An optional excursion to the monastery of Einsiedeln is scheduled for August 31. The deadline for abstracts is February 15, 2024. 2023

The 58th edition of the Linguistics Colloquium took place from September 20 to 22, 2023, in Vilnius, Lithuania. Visiting Vilnius was worthwhile for another reason, too, as the city celebrated its 700th anniversary in 2023. For further information see the conference website at www.lingcoll58.flf.vu.lt

2022

The 57th edition of the Linguistics Colloquium took place from September 21 to 23, 2022, in Tampere, Finland. This is the URL of the conference website: https://events.tuni.fi/lingcoll2022/. The proceedings will appear as an open access publication. 

2021

The 55th edition of the Linguistics Colloquium was planned to take place in 2020, but had to be postponed to 2021 due to the Corona pandemic. For the same reason, it had to take place virtually. The conference dates were Sept. 8 to 11, 2021. The proceedings of the conference are published in three volumes. The first has already been completed and appeared as a special issue of the open access journal Lege Artis Language Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow, see https://lartis.sk/special-issue-2-2022/

The other two volumes appeared as books with the publishing houses Peter Lang and Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht.

2020

Due to the Corona pandemic, the 55th edition of the Linguistics Colloquium was postponed  from 2020 to 2021. To secure the long standing continuity of the conference series, the 56th edition was brought forward as a virtual conference in 2020. It took place from November 26 to 28, 2020. The proceedings are planned to appear in spring 2024 with Peter Lang.

2019

The 54th edition of the Linguistics Colloquium took place from September 19 to 22, 2019, in Moscow, Russia. The proceedings will be published with Peter Lang as soon as possible.

2018

The 53rd edition of the Linguistics Colloquium took place in Odense, Denmark, from September 24 to 27, 2018. The URL of the website is https://lingcoll53.sdu.dk/call-for-papers/. The proceedings will be published with Peter Lang shortly.
